Just Released: The Healing
What inspired you to write Be Still?
Be Still actually came to me in a dream. I remember waking up the next morning and grabbing my yellow lined pad and writing three solid pages. The words that are attributed to God in Be Still were the exact words that I had heard in the dream. I knew I had to write this book, but as I struggled with the plot, I kept putting the manuscript aside. Each time I did though, it kept haunting me until I had no other choice but to come back and finish it.
Did you pattern your character Reverend John after any particular person?
Reverend John is a combination of several people who have used God for their own purposes. Fortunately, some of these people have been prosecuted and sent to jail.
You talk about the Phoenix World Alliance, do you feel there is such an organization?
The premise for the Phoenix World Alliance actually goes back several hundred years and probably even further. World control has never been far from elitist minds. Recently, there was an actual gathering of millionaires and billionaires in Phoenix to plot the future of the world. This was the Phoenix Project spearheaded by financier George Soros. But other organizations have the same agenda, namely the Bilderbergs and the Tri Lateral Commission.
Do you feel God is an angry God or a God of love?
My feeling is that He is both. With the Great Flood and certainly with Sodom and Gomorrah, he definitely showed us His anger when mankind turned against Him. But He is also a merciful and forgiving God. My belief, like the parable of the Prodigal Son, is that he simply wants His children to come back to Him. All He asks is that we love Him and follow the rules He gave us.
You seem to go into a lot of details in your book, where did you get this information?
Most of the research was done online, especially the information on the scientists, the observatories and comets. The city layouts were from personal information and maps. The church services and papal information was also from personal information since my background included a Catholic father and a Baptist mother. My father was actually an altar boy and my great grandfather was a Baptist minister. This background led me to a belief that there is not just one right church - that the most important thing was a belief in God.
Can you give a short synopsis of the plot?
Sure. A popular news reporter hears reports of people seeing and speaking with angels. As she investigates this amazing story, the chilling evidence shakes her beliefs. Those who have spoken to the angels repeat the same ominous message from God, “Tell the people to prepare themselves, for their time is at hand.”
Any plans in the future for another book?
Yes, I'm currently working hard on my next novel entitled The Healing which is scheduled for publication in the spring of 2010.
